A round coffee table that sits inside a bowl of curved black steel. The arcs spring from the rim of the top, bow outward as they fall and draw back in to a steel ring on the floor, so the whole base reads as an open cage you can see straight through rather than a block of furniture parked in the middle of the room. A second, smaller round shelf sits low inside that frame, just above the steel floor ring.
The usual problem with a coffee table is that everything lands on it. Here the lower tier takes the remotes, the books and the tray, and the top stays clear.
