Under the dark brown wooden top, a black steel frame follows the same half circle down to a stretcher bar near the floor, and set into it, evenly spaced across the front, are three open steel circles, each 25 cm (9.8 in) across. They are the reason the piece reads as light rather than as a solid apron of metal. The top is 5 cm (2 in) thick, which is what stops a half circle this wide looking flimsy at its thin ends.
