A handheld shower head with a clear barrel in the handle holding three kinds of mineral bead. The water runs through the bead bed before it reaches the face, which catches sediment and takes the edge off hard water, and because the barrel is transparent you can see the state of the beads at a glance.
Three sprays are selected at the head: rainfall for a wide soft fall, jet for a narrow stream, and massage for something firmer. Fine laser cut holes speed the water up, so the spray feels stronger while using up to forty percent less water.

Unscrew the head every few weeks and wash the barrel, the beads and the spray face under the faucet, then refit them. Replacement beads are sold here, singly or as a set, for when they eventually dull.
