A cylindrical hanging lantern made the traditional way. An outer cage of slim vertical bamboo rods is held by a woven bamboo band at the top and another at the bottom, and an off white faux parchment liner sits just inside it. The liner carries a fine painted branch motif, so the light arrives warm and diffused instead of bare.

Six styles are offered, each with its own motif and liner tone, from soft yellow through to near white. The lantern hangs on a cord and takes a single E27 bulb, which is not included. It is not dimmable, and assembly is required.

The parchment liner sits just inside the bamboo cage, so a single bulb arrives as an even glow rather than a bright point. Hung low over a table it lights the surface without lighting your eyes.

Slim bamboo rods are held between two woven bands, one at the top and one at the bottom. Because it is made by hand, the spacing and the grain shift slightly from one lantern to the next.
