Filling it
Open the top and pour liquid hand soap into the tank. Foaming dispensers work by pushing soap through a mesh with air, so a thinner soap foams more easily than a thick gel, and thinning a heavy soap with a little water gives a lighter foam and a smoother pour.

Wipe the body and the top panel with a damp cloth. Rinse the tank through with warm water when you change soap, which keeps the mesh clear and the foam even.
