A tall, shallow bookcase built the way a workshop shelf is: six wood boards held in a black steel frame, with a big X brace across each end panel to keep the whole thing square. It stands 70.86 in (180 cm) high and 31.5 in (80 cm) wide but comes only 11.8 in (30 cm) out from the wall, so it takes a wall rather than a room.
Between the six boards sit five open bays. Each shelf carries up to 75 lb (34 kg), which is a full run of hardbacks rather than a few paperbacks, and the boards are 0.59 in (1.5 cm) thick.
